On a toilet a painting is hanging. On it an image of a small bird of prey. A falcon's eye looks at me tightly. "Merlin" stands underneath.... Merlin? Never knew that that was the English name for a small falcon. So I make a mask of old bones in honor of that Old English sorcerer.
“Merlin, tell me something about logic and magic, how do they relate?”
“They relate as a merlin to a dove. Logic chases magic and magic twists and twirls elusive as a dove can fly.”
“But why then is your name Merlin and not Dove!?”
“Good God girl, I am totally logic person!”
