1900: In Scheveningen The first inport is dug. The sand is deposited in the southern dune area. Very convenient, very nearby.
1929: There are problems with the Hague garbage processing. The waste is used to elevate the dunes. Very convenient, very nearby.
1933: The Dune area becomes a park with paths trees and shrubs.
1940-1945: The area becomes part of the Atlantic Wall. The Germans are building bunkers.
1996: The dunes are now called West Dune Park and are declared a nature reserve.
2002: Some lots are stripped. They are full of digested garbage.
2008-2018: Nature must return to the dunes. Scottish Highlanders are put there for grazing and there is more sand for the wind to blow..
2019: West Dune Park/Port.... a cruise terminal? Who knows what the future will bring..... (
